AC always on !!!!! mazda 3 sedan gs 2004

Hi i bought a 2004 Mazda 3 Gs 6 months ago, since I live in cold weather i didn`t feel that my ac was on all the time , sad no !
Well, this is the situation, when I start the car I always turn on the fan and the air keep coming cold all the time, freezing, even if the AC light is off and that is during summer.
After several test, i found out that when the fan is on the first 2 position, left to right, the ac is off but as soon as you put it on the 3 others, middle to right, you hear the noise of the AC running and the air starts to get cold, the AC light is still off .
I tried to:
Turn the heating to max; un-jam the AC button but did not help.
Can anyone help me? Please.

PS: i mean by Positions : 1 face, 2 feet and face, 3 feet, 4 windshield, 5 wshld and feet

Leave it on 1 or 2 (maybe 3? I don't use that one...) if you don't want "phantom" AC.
I know that 4 and 5 cycle the AC all the time. Even if you use 4 or 5 you should be able to heat the air. If it doesn't, you might want to get that looked at.

This is a design "feature" of the 3. When you have it past POS3 it turns on the AC to defog the windshield.

thx guys, but the AC is (on) on 1, 2, 3 and 4 and it turns off on 0 with the fan. on position 3,4,5.

Yes. That is normal.

This is normal... read your owner's manual, mine clearly states that the A/C turns on without the button being illuminated if the fan position is turned anywhere from lower floor vent only -> full defrost mode.
