Does anybody know where I can buy a CANBUS adapter locally. I need one to give me VSS pulses as well as a reverse indication(not a must). I'd prefer one plugs into the OBD2 port, but I don't mind hardwiring either
Thanks,
Roger

if you dont mind hardwiring then i would suggest if you have 04-09 model get the speed pulse off of the ecu connector. if you have a 2010 then there will be a vss wire right behind the deck in the main connector for the radio. If you are looking for the reverse signal there should be a reverse wire running along the drivers side floor board that you can tap in to on 04-09 not sure about 10 or just run a super long wire from the trunk to the front

The 10 I believe is on the passengers side behind the kick panel.
But if your installing a camera and your already back their you can tap into the reverse signal wire in the lights or along the back panel in the trunk.

Okay, thanks for the info. I'm actually looking for VSS on a 2010 Ford Expedition Max with CAN-BUS. That's why I need an adapter, It would seem VSS is adapted right at the transmission and converted to CAN-BUS.

a can-bus post? Great!! and McGuyver_3 chimed in? even better! you wouldn't know by chance how I'd be able to kill the parking brake indicator? or at least be able to control it independently? see, I disabled my DRLs with the e-brake and want to re-wire the indicator with another switch on the ebrake so I gain regular function again and yet have no DRLs. if there's no way to do it, then I'm gonna get in the cluster and knock out the smd and put another LED in there and wire it back to the ebrake if I really, really have to

didn't mean to thread jack, and I still haven't hit the post count to edit, and I forgot to mention my question applies to my 06 3GT

you got jipped on instal of your hid's and it is rather unsafe aswell. The hand brake light also indicates low brake fluid warning. Your fix is to get a relay and instal it for the hid's. As for the handbrake light you will need to reverse the wire hook up and hope whoever did it did not decide to cut and ground the wire permanently. It wont be irriversable but just more work to do so

Oh, no worries, I've not done HID yet... no jipping allowed here :chuckle, I do all my own work. I'm not too concerned about having the light warn me of low brakefluid..., <knocks on wood> even on my former 15yr old VR6, I never had any brake fluid issues... now come to think of it on any previous car I've ever owned. Thanks for the concern :thumbsup . I've been up and down almost every HID post in here and mz3.com, read every DRL/HID bypass or relay setup. when I'm ready, I'll be prepared, if not, I sure known to to PM about it!
