Hi Guys,
I have searched through a lot of threads and found out that everyone has different setups on their cars so I decided to start a new thread.
I 'm planning on getting 18x7.5 rims with +45 offset wrapped in 225/40/R18 Falken 912s. I'm also lowered on Eibach prokits and have SPC rear cambers installed. Can all those of you who have the same setup presently on their cars as what I intend to get post their experiences interms of tire rubbing (speed bumps, pot holes, full left/right lock etc).
My main concern is tire rubbing. I dont want to roll my fenders so please also mention if you rolled your fenders.
If any one of you have other setups (different wheel sizes/offsets) can also post your experience to help me make my decision.
Thanks alot!

I ran that same setup. I didn't rub unless I went through large pot holes.
I almost got the same set up minus the rear camber kit and i do not rub at all
I'm on 17x7.5 offset 45 and tire size is 225/45/17 and i'm on pro-kits and not once have i ever rubed..

Speed3 fenders are wider tho.
OP, I'd expect that setup to be fine.

I am on 18x7.5 225/40/18 on sportlines and i rub at full lock at the front and i rubbed at the back but rolled the fenders after.
problem with the back is the the lip on the inside of the wheel well was hitting the wall of my tires so i got them rolled by Unibody, no paint chipping at all

Thanks for all your replies guys. Appreciate it.
Continue sharing your experiences with tire rubbing when lowered with your setup as other members who are in the process of lowering and changing rims will get a clear idea as to what they are getting into and will help them make their choices.

What springs are you on?

Thats what I think too but just wanted to be sure as I'll be pumping alot of money in the new set of rims and tires.

I guess since sportlines lower the car as much as 2.3", you get some rubbing and had to roll your fenders. The posts above by other members who use eibach prokits and similar wheel/tire sizes as yours don't experience the rubbing you do?

Any spring with a 1.5" drop and lower is fine you wont have rubbing issues. You will have issues when you go to 2" of 2.5"

Okay so I got myself ADR fin7 18x7.5, +45 offset wrapped in 225/40/R18 Falken 912 as described in my first post. There is no rubbing whatsoever so far even on high speed bumps. Glad I got those and thanks for all those who shared their experiences. I like my rims. The only thing that has really changed is the ride comfort. What a change in the ride comfort from 17" to 18" rims. I can definitely feel the road more. Even the smallest of the bumps are noticable. I didn't notice much difference when the car was lowered on eibach springs with stock 17''. Now for shocks as the stock ones will eventually get shot!

I have 18x7.5 +45 with 225/40/18 Falken 912s lowered on Canucks and I definitely feel the road much more and get the occasional rubbing when going over dips and potholes. Although there are spots on the outer edge of the tire indicating it's rubbed there before, I've checked underneath the edge of the wheelwell and no paint has been scuffed off. (yet)

Alot of people like FSDs or the Koni Yellows, but you want to look into Coilovers once your struts are gone. For a little more money that new struts you can get coils

I'm actually looking into Koni FSD as they work well with Eibach Prokit (as per Koni website). I'm not sure how many people on the board are currently running the Koni FSD with Eibach Prokit setup but I would imagine that the ride will be a little softer on bumps with my 18" than the present stock shocks. Koni Yellows on the other hand are adjustable but are stiffer from what I hear and so are the coilovers.
In order to stay within topic and for search purposes, I'm going to start a new thread for people to discuss the kind of shocks they used for their ride after lowering and how long the stock shocks last after lowering. Stay tuned.

I previously ran FSD with Pro Kits. One thing to keep in mind, the FSD is a shorter shock than OEM. As a result your ride will be lowered a bit further.

That is true. I just read on the koni website. The FSD paired with prokit lowers the car by 36mm in the front and 30mm in the rear. Prokits with stock shocks is about 1.2 inches (approx 30mm) all round. That means there is an added 6mm drop in the front which is approx. 1/2 a centimeter. It looks marginal but could lead to some tire rubbing on bumps and full left/right lock.
