Hi guys! I have a 2007 M3 GT.... i'm thinking of putting 3000K HID on my fogs ? Do you guys think its a good idea ? Maybe i should go with the Nokya hyper yellow bulbs ????
If i go with the HID how hard will it be to install ? Is it just a plug and play thing ?
here's a pic with the car

That's Videcak's old car!
3000k would look good. The install is best with a relay but it's pretty straight forward.

You don't necesarily need a relay for the fogs as it is standard plug and play but if you prefer it then all the power to you.
I had yellow fogs for a few months but got sick of it really quick so i matched headlights with fogs at 6k

Yep, installing HIDs in the fog lights is really not much harder than installing halogen bulbs. You need to find a place for the ballasts but there are lots of look nooks and crannies under the hood so the hard part is choosing which suitable spot feels right. Even with a relay/harness it is pretty easy - there are a few extra connections but the plugs only go together one way so you can't really mess it up.
As far as 3000K vs white, I switched my fog lights from 4300K to 3000K a week or so ago and I'm pleased with the look and performance. Just to be weird I also put 3000K bulbs in my high beams; they're HID as well. I gotta say, i'm satisfied with the weirdness factor there but the performance is surprisingly good. I can see why some of the cars in 24 hour endurance racing run 3000K lights. The yellow light gives noticeably better contrast and less glare than the 4300K bulbs did - no more being dazzled by blown out reflections from road signs, puddles, etc.
I don't know if I'd risk switching my low beams to 3000K though - the Police might have something to say about that.

^^ having yellow lights as your daytime running lights and fogs isn't weird or unusual by any means. There's a gaggle full of members who run this exact setup. It looks good :)

I pulled the DRL fuse when I put HIDs in the high beams. Even in daylight 55 watts of HID high beam is probably not nice for on-coming drivers. I always used to drive with the headlights (low beam) on anyway - that way the tail lights are lit too. Lately though I've been using the parking lights and fogs in daylight because the bright yellow lights are so noticeable and look so good. I reserve the high beams for when I'm out in the country after dark.
