Hey guys,
My car is 05, therefore the DRL and Low beam are the same bulb, I am just wondering if the wattage and brightness of the DRL and Low beam are the same, or is DRL running at a lower power? Is there a fuse that I can pull so that the DRL/Low beam will run at the same power level?
Thanks,
Shu

The DRL on our car is done by modulating the voltage, so the bulb is not as bright. There is no way to disable this while maintaining the stock halogen bulbs. Just get HIDs and use a relay, then you can either tap the parking light for a signal source, or run a capacitor.

DRL runs at lower power. I don't know the measurement, but at a high level that is how it works. As for the fuse, I'm not sure. There has to be something regulating or resisting the power. Someone should be along shortly that can give more concise info.

I am running HID on low beams already, and I wired up the DRL/Low Beam wire to fog and Fog wire to Low beam, this way I will use fog as DRL and will always be on, and since Fog only turns on at night time, I use it to power the HIDs. The reason I ask is, the fog light (which is wired to DRL/Low beam) during day time is not very bright you can barely see that it's on..., I want to make it more brighter

In that case run a relay and use a 12v straight from your batt and only use the stock harness as a trigger

Basically what will happen is you will have:
85=ground
86=stock lowbeam harness as trigger
30=constant power fused
87=wire to fogs
This way your fogs will be on all the time.
Then you run a relay for your HIDs
