Well a low watt system would just need a decent capacitor, but something with a little more power might be better to get a bigger battery, for that id go with Kinetic Batteries

Depending on what you're running

I would start with checking oe even bumping up the ground wires /connectors first.

A low wattage system shouldn't need a cap. Especially on newer vehicles.

Alpine PDX-5 Amp (Birthed at 102w x 4 and 421 x 1 or something like that)
Morel Tempo 6 Components for front stage
Morel Tempo 6 Coax in the rear
JL 8W3 in VCP's extra stealth jack enclosure
Cache COE8 LOC

I want more but don't really have the cash right now. I need to change my amp to the PDX 4.100 and PDX 1.600 or PDX 1.1000 to keep both stacked under passenger seat...and a bigger sub. I need the space though. I wonder if I can make my Morel Tempo6's better too...

So here's mine... and a little history. I've had this set up about 6 or 7 yrs now. They were a former co-workers box and a pair of 10" really, really old American Crunch subs. the crunch's cones were ripped from his hockey skates and he bought that Sony Xplode pentagon shaped 12" subs for his Cavalier (yeah I think this was 2004ish). So I said Hell yah I'll take those. I fabricated (and spray bombed red) new cones from (LOL! my fav material again - Cheerios box) and used contact cement to repair them, then as you can see in the pic, I beaded the cone to the dust cap with silicone. Also touched up some of the rubber surround with silicone. I bought a Pioneer 150Wx2 amp from Cdn Tire for only $99 to match the subs and...
Jesus Lord of Mercy, they POUND:headbang. The box is 3/4" MDF and dimensions are about 12"h x 36"w x 20"d. I have no idea what the volume is. I'd had them running off of a Panasonic HU from 2000. I tried in vain to blow them so I could buy a set of the JL W-series :drool , but these thing won't die! LOL! this box just fits in the back of the hatch. When I do groceries with my kids, I can't use the space :chuckle. It's odd because in my Jetta, with this box I still had about 12" by trunk width for this task, yet I'm sure my 3 is slightly larger.

So now I have them being fed off the stock HU from speaker level without a LOC (therefore not excercising them as much). They work great like this for me. I'm over the crazy, make-my-bowels-move, shake-my-heart-out-of-my-chest bass. I almost bought a LOC, but I'm totally impressed with the 3's stock system, it's very clean

sorry for the novel! oh btw I've never had any dimming or any other issues by not using a cap in my VR6 or my 3
