View Full Version : 2010 3 Ballast Location

Hi,

I just took a look at the passenger side headlight location. It seems pretty tight, and there doesn't seem like a good location to put the ballast. Just wondering where you guys put it on the passenger side, esp in the 2010... not sure if there's a layout change under the hood from the old gen.

I stuck mine in this little spot. It's a tight fit, but there is just enough room.

same. the other side... i double taped it to the battery casing with 3M super duty double sided tape.

+1 for the little nook. Thats where i have one ballast hidden, with the other being on top of the air filter cover.

in the kit you should have gotten double sided tape and underneath the headlights there will be a nice flat surface area where you can place the ballast aswell. Up to you just informing you

I placed my ballast in the same location with the double sided tape provided, but just noticed today that it came off. How do you guys keep it mounted there? Or I will place is where McGuyver suggested.

The tape provided is usually pretty crap. Mine fell off within a day so I went out and bought some 'extra strong' outdoor velcro and used that instead. It's still holding strong.

After going the tape route I wound up just screwing them down. Here's where I put mine.

Will pick up so velcro tape to try it out. I have the Apexcone Raptor so the ballast is pretty big

I've got the same ballasts. I used 3M outdoor double sided tape. That $hit holds strong!! I mounted one on top of the fuse box cover and the other on top of the receiver-dryer.

that slim kit looks well put together (in particular the rubber around the wire). Did you get closed connectors as well for power? It would be nice to see a pic or description of the changes from their previous slim kits which were sparse on wire coverings...
