Okay. I just noticed my car appears to be leaking some reddish fluid from the silver pump which is located next to the Antifreeze overflow bottle.

What I want to know is what the heck is that?? Is it part of the Transaxle? Please. I am worried. First serious problem with car and it has over 90 K

i believe only the transmission fluid is red but the tranny is on the other side. maybe the engine mount?

I will take pics now. Can it possibly be a Transaxle line? Or metal hose or something? BRB with pics

Here are two pics I just took. First one is of the "mount" or whatever it is and the second one you can see fluid dripping down

Shouldnt this be a warranty thing? I have Extended Warranty until 100 K or January 2011?

If not, what costs are we talking here?

This might be replaced under your MAP, it will all depend on the dealership. The mounts have been known to be garbage and were actually redesigned to be stronger in later years. I actually had mine replaced already because it went on me and I'm only at 82k. That was before my 80k warranty was up though.

You don't have to worry about not driving the car though. It is still safe, though you may feel a few more vibrations than usual. I would get it replaced as soon as you can though.

You need to. It's one of the components holding your engine up.

I just had mine replaced at Maple Mazda under the Powertrain warranty. They at first said it wasn't covered, but another post on the forums stated that Airport Mazda covered it under the Powertrain warranty, so I told them I would take it to Airport Mazda. While looking for the number of Airport Mazda, Maple called back saying it was covered. As well, if you go to the Mazda.ca website, and look under the Powertrain warranty, engine mounts are specifically mentioned as being covered.

Well, I went in this morning and they told me yes indeed it was the Engine mount (Number 3 Mount to be exact) and it was covered under the Powertrain warranty. So in 20 minutes it was done.

They did NOT clean up the mess from the leak so I told them when I bring it back this Wednesday for an Oil change and they said they would

Also, I need front brakes and rotors and they quoted me $346.00 plus tax!!!!
