So again tonight I had about 1.5 hrs to get this in. That bulb hook (holder) that mazda did is the stupidest thing I've ever seen! :loco. I used the wire loom as my spacer, that was easy, I only had to cut out the back to slip it over the end of the bulb. and then slit the little end piece to get the HID bulb connections free. BUT can someone tell me if that rubber bulb cover from the back of the lights is supposed to fit tight over the HID bulb? because the halogen was like that, how the F'n hell are we supposed to get our hands in there? I'll have to hope for dry weather till I can have a go at getting them snug over the HID bulb end. I would wish that install on my enemy, what a PITA

so enough bitching... here's my pics:

This one I set my camera to "P" with ISO 400, and -2 exposure to try to get a non-glaring head on pic. the colour turned out great

Overall, I have to say HOLY SH!T what a difference, I dunno if I can hide that one from the wife:chuckle It's like night and day difference. I think I may adjust them down just a touch. I've read posts on adjusting the headlights, but it didn't seem right for my car. Can someone point me in the right direction?

thanks!

Looks good man! To adjust the headlights, there is a white plastic cap behind the headlight housing (there are 2 on each housing, inner one for height, outer one for width adjustment). Pop off the white cap (requires force/luck, i deformed mine trying to pull it off), and turn the bolt behind it with a socket wrench to adjust the beam.

Were you the one looking to get yellow fogs? I want to go to white fogs, so maybe we can work something out. PM me.

HID's all the way. They make such a huge difference. But yeah, make sure they're aimed properly or you'll anger a lot of drivers... not to mention that it's not the greatest idea to blind someone who is travelling straight towards you at a closing speed of 200 km/h.

Thanks for the comments... when I headed out to work this morn 05:30, it looks like that cut off point is just a smidge below a standard sedan's trunk line, from behind a safe distance. I'm obviously not used to having my headlight beam pattern fully lit to the end. These ones are 6K from sp3GT, and they are seriously white, cool white rather than say a 4300-4500K white (which in halogens are very crisp - I had a set in my former Jetta). I'm very happy with the output. now to tidy up the wiring, and turn them down a bit.

Actually the other night, I followed a white 07+ 3 into my neighbourhood, and it too had HID, but they were pointed at the ground... it looked stock, so I was surprised to see it so poorly aimed

also now that I have this feature, I can't believe that anyone would want them to be better, ie: sourcing that internal 'clear' glass projector piece. as it is, is WAY more than plenty of light!

i have clear lenses with hid`s. They give you more crisp light with a sharp cut off line. i did the color mod too. Way better than stock lenses!

Looks good...I think HID's will be one of my next mods.
