So my wonderful mom with her excellent driving skills destroyed a good 15cm of one of my RX8 rims, which are power coated glossy black... I will have to post photos but i'm sure most people can figure out how it looks...

Its right at the edge. My question, can i take it in somewhere and have it fixed/re-power coated or does the whole rim have to be redone?

Another quick question, is it possible to "un" power coat rims and restore them to original?

Thanks! :)

Apparantly you can, but i've never tried. http://www.ehow.com/how_4451163_remove-powder-coat.html

Personally, I'd just get one wheel re-powdercoated...maybe cost you $100?

The whole wheel will have to be redone. Probably sandblast it back to bare metal and redone so as not to have too much build up on the rest of the wheel. As bman13 said, cost should be minimal to do minus cost to unmount/remount balance.

Perhaps a good winter project while they are off if you have snows.
