I just got my car 2 weeks ago (brand new) and I have little Brownish Yellowish spots on various spots of my car. Any idea what this can be? I will be letting my dealer know but i was curious if anyone has had the same happen to them.

Atleast i thought it was rust but my bro says it looks like splash from something else. Maybe when my car was being rust proofed or something.

Sorry for the lack of detail :(

it could be rail dust from when the car was on transport. How big are the visible spots and what color is your car?

My car is white and its not entirely visible UNLESS you get a real close look. My car did get transported by rail from Vancouver.

It probably is rail dust, sounds like it, and the situation is common for new cars. Half a clay bar and a few hours of claying, cleaning and waxing will make that paint sparkle :)

rail dust it is! take it back to the dealer and tell them you have rail dust and you want the car clayed, waxed and polished. They should take care of it for you.

If I brought it back to my deal would they take care of it? I wouldnt want to mess it up and as I stated I just got the car 2 weeks ago.

you wont mess up the car.. its really easy.. lube than clay.. rub with some pressure and presto... no more rail dust.. even if you take the car back to the dealer.. just pick up a claybar kit, so you can keep your new ride clean!

Which kits are best and easiest to use?

Forgot to add. I got paint protector done on my car. I guess they did this OVER the rail rust. Does this matter?

if you bought the paint protection take it to the dealership and they will fix it for FREE...You won't have to waste your own time, just let them do it. I have the same problem and just take it in and the warranty will cover it.

shouldn't stuff like that have been covered in the PDI?

The dealer might have seen it and figured they won't do anything about in hopes you don't notice or if you do you will clay bar the car yourself or have someone do it for you for $. Saves the dealer time and money. Take it back. I guess all our cars will have rail dust no matter what colour.
