Scratches on plastic around shifter

I just got a 2010 GT and the silver plastic that is around the gear shifter seems to be scratching really easily. anyone else notice this?

Mine has also but I just forget about it. You can always paint it or replace it with a new one.

YEA I have the same issue, on my mazda GT, little marks, i have no idea how they got there. Pretty cheap plastic thats forsure. Its a shame to replace something that is pretty new to start off with. Even with the outside paint, paint even gets little marks on it as well.

I have some too...it's a mystery as to where they came from.

I found I was getting them from using the vacuums at the car wash. When pulling it through the interior it would rub over the shifter area and scratch it. Needless to say I don't do that anymore. :S
