I am putting in a Pioneer Avic X920. The install manual doesn't seem to like speakers running at less than 4 Ohms.
My 96' Infiniti's Bose system was 2 Ohms I believe.

Has that changed with the 6 speaker/sub/amp of the Mazda's Bose system, or am I potentially facing a problem here.

Lots of people have said they just dropped the Pioneer into the MZ3 Bose with no worries, but ohms are something to pay attention to, yes?

so no one knows if the Mazda stock Bose system operates at 2 or 4 ohms? How could I find out?

Bose speakers are 2.5 ohm . Simplest way is to not bypass the stock amplifier, and to use a LOC, as you referred, between head unit and amplifier.

Is that unit I pictured indeed a LOC?

Yes, it’s a LOC, with wide abilities for different setups, but a LOC.
You will need in all these properties: adjusting input and output levels and separated outputs, In one word ,in manual it called a “premium/JBL/Bose” configuration.
I have to correct myself. Bose speaker is 2.15 Ohm.

Thanks, that's excellent news, as I'd hate to blow out the new Pioneer by overworking it.
Just so I know, where is the Bose equipment labeled, or do you know a Mazda link that outlines the 2007 model year factory Bose specifications? I haven't been able to find one online so far

Never had this amplifier or official specification in my hands, and there are only rumors: 220 watt total power, 2 volt RMS input signal.
You have a very promising name, with o-scope you can tune it at maximal amp abilities.
If you need in wiring you could find it there.

Connector pinout you can take there.
