Today, it poured really hard in London. I had to drive through quite a bit of water. After the car sat dry for a few hours. Then, when I took the car out, I gunned it a bit, and got the CEL. My Scangauge read the code as P0103, Mass air flow sensor (MAF) high circuit input. I cleared it with the Scangauge, and then took it for a long drive. It did not return. After that, I went and got an e-test done, which she passed with flying colours. Should I be worried?

I popped one a while back. I was told I had a torn wire in my MAF harness, but I took it apart and never found a damaged wire. This is one possible scenario.

I cleaned my MAF sensor with CRC Sensor Cleaner when I disassembled the harness. The CEL (knock on wood) never came back. It is possible that your MAF sensor is dirty.

I just cleared it, and took it for a HARD drive, and it was still fine. Hopefully it won't come back.

If you have time try breaking down your harness and looking for a broken wire. Its worth knowing that it isn't broken. I say this because mine popped and I had serious power cut at 6000 rpm in second; then it started happening at 5000 rpm. After about 10 mins of driving the power cut stopped but the CEL stuck around.

I've had this on a couple of occasions. It's more than likely just a matter of some water getting on the MAF and distorting the readings. I've had some really, REALLY bad bogging and what-not because of it but in the end it all works out fine. I also need to redo one or two of my MAF wires but this (the bogging/CEL) was discussed in another post in the MZ3 General Forum a little while back...wonder if I can find it.

Something is there, at least you had a problem in two consecutive cycles. Early to worry ,just remember it ,and inspect you engine mounts at the first opportunity. You can check the amount of air at idle(should be 1.5-4 gram per second).
