So I just got back from Bruce Peninsula a few days ago and I noticed when I went in reverse (I have an auto) and start to reverse, there was a very disturbing screeching noise as if metal was scraping against each other. This only happened for a day and has not happened since. I do know this happened when I went off road and I'm not sure if a rock or something got caught up. I will bring it in to get it checked but wanted to know if anyone has an idea what it could be as it has not happened since.

Once i had a rock stuck somewhere in my braking system. I would apply the breaks and a loud screeching sound would happen. I went over a few bumps and it fell out.
Im not sure if you just had a similar situation....

When did the screech happen? When you pressed the accelerator / brake, etc?

The screech happens after I let go of the brake

Had the same issue with a Warped rotor when reversing after it got wet it would make this horrible noise, but it would happen at one particular point when my wheel turned, not all the time
