in a 2007 MZ3 hatch GT, does anyone know how the front/rear/sub interact with the amplifier?
Are the front door speakers/pillar tweeters wired together? They seem to be.
How is the subwoofer under the passenger seat grouped in with the front or rear speakers?
There doesn't appear to any additional wiring on the factory harness for a subwoofer, therefore, does it get its audio signal from a splice off the front or rear speakers (or all four)?
I tried to read the electrical block diagram, but it didn't make sense to me.
Laymans terms, anyone?
:)

Head unit has ground plus 4 pairs for the door speakers running to the amp. The amp then has a feed to each door. Tweets are piggy-backed off of the door speakers as part of the door wiring. Sub connects to the amp on its own.

excellent. regarding the sub...there is no way to control it individually from an aftermarket headunit, since the connection is made to the amplifier, as opposed to being a line-level connection? In other words, the only thing you can hook up to a Kenwood or Pioneer are the four speakers - yes?

Yup, no way to control the sub separately. Unless you add a new amp for the subwoofer (or replace the stock amp with one that has a separate sub input)

Does anyone know if the 2006 GT have the Bose speakers as well? I googled, but didn't find a definitive answer...

Thanks!

Generally, all the Bose systems I have seen have the word "Bose" displayed on the speaker mesh grilles that cover the speakers. I think in the GT's, the sunroof package also includes the Bose system

but it is on the "World Wide Web" hehe

strange that Mazda would go to the trouble of differentiating North American models that way, other than the obvious KM/MPH

Strange indeed... European models had the nave unit as well, while n/a models didn't :(

There are other differences with the Canadian cars.... larger alternator, heated mirrors, larger wiper-fluid reservoir......

Hmmmm, so I have teh 2006 GT, with a sunroof.... but no badging on the grille

I would love to grab the full service records, or spec sheet for my exact car lol!

Wonder if Mazda could do that for me?
