This just started to happen recently, When i move in 1st, or just let go of the clutch and let the gear slow me down, I will hear this loud knocking noise.

It doesn't happen all the time though and seems like something is loose and is moving back and forth. Any ideas what this could be before i pay someone to look at it?

My first thought is a broken motor mount. Do you have any mods, and has there been and has there been any work done to your car recently?

nope the only work done to my car has been regular maintenance, such as oil change and brake job. Is there any tell tale visual signs of a broken mount?

And i can only hear it, it's not something i can feel

You might be able to inspect the passenger side yourself. Look for signs of liquid leaking down from the mount. Also try feeling around the mount for tears. The best thing to do would be to take it in and have it looked at, if for nothing else at lease for peace of mind.

yep, instead of looking for signs yourself just take it to street performance, I even go to Jimmy after I scrape the car, just to a peace of mind

Was planning to take it to Jimmy later this week, i work 5 minutes from Street Performance. Just wanted to get an idea before i took it in

If i do need to change the mount should i go OEM, or would it be better for after market, such as smoother/quieter ride?

On that side a new oem mount should be fine if you upgrade the rear mm.

i took a quick look on my lunch, it's dry as a bone, no leaking, the rubber is not broken or cracked.either way i want this fixed asap, i do feel some vibrations when i first start the car but after a few minutes of driving it stops, and it only happens when idle.

Gonna see jimmy hopefully Wednesday, tomorrow i'm getting an alignment done

It could still be broken. Sometimes you don't see any damage, but it's there. At any rate, Jim is the best guy around and he'll help you figure it out. Let us know how it goes.

Checking with Jimmy tomorrow, i got my wheels aligned today and they tried to tell me my front bearings are bad, but it's only my tires, as the noise they are referencing only started when i rotated my tires. plus the quotes me $800 bucks to fix. I know it's a big job but i don't see how it can be more then 300 - 400 with labor

So i had the mount replaced, it reduced the loudness of the noise but it still happens.
