Power Window Noise

My brother had an older M3, when you lowered the driver window it started with a real loud bang. Mine is getting louder as it gets older and I think it is just that there is some slack in the system and the noise is the sound of that slack getting taken up by the motor when you first start to lower the window. Is there an adjustment for that?

Got that too, it's almost like the arms stick somewhere then get knocked loose

I hear it when I roll the rear windows back up. Kinda like it's smacking the window edge

According to the service person I talked to, it could be loose mounting bolts or other issues, wasn't particularily helpful except to say that they would have to take apart the whole door to find out what was wrong and that sounds expensive. I think I'll ask the parts guy to show me a diagram of the system next time I'm in.
