I suspect that one of my motor mounts near the passenger side is going. I saw an oil type fluid leak in my passenger side wheel well. Also, when I go over small bumps my car shutter (the interior vibrates) which is a symptom of motor mount failure. I check the mount on the left side of the engine it looks okay but Im not a mechanic. Is it dangerous or can it cause severe damage if I go to the dealer next week? Please let me know if it can cause major engine, transmission (my car is a manual), or clutch if I wait a week.

I am by no means a mechanic, this is just my thought. If you're seeing fluid in the wheel well AND your car shutters when you go over bumps then I am thinking that you likely have a blown/damaged/leaking strut and that it will need replacing. If it were the passenger side mount you'd be able to hear/feel it whether the car is moving or stopped, if you get on the gas a bit. You'll REALLY notice a failed passenger side mount if your car is standard because everytime you left off the clutch to get the car rolling there's going to be an unpleasant noise and it's going to feel bad.

How old is your car, how many kilometres on it...?

A mount that needs replacing should not, in the short term anyways, damage the engine/tranny/clutch/etc. Neither should a damaged strut although riding on bad suspension for an extended period of time is just asking to kill yourself. I rode for quite a while with a dead passenger side mount, mind you, I threw on an ETD (Engine Torque Damper) after a while so that picked up (some of) the slack from the mount.

I had a Bad mount for a over a month before i realized that it was broken. however i think i got lucky as i wasn't leaking any fluid. I was able to change it myself, but if you can take it to Street Performance near Esna park and Woodbine, great shop and they know a lot about the 3

2004 mazda 3 110 000km. I did notice a grease type fluid on my strut as well. If it is the strut it is the second one that leaked so far.

there's 3 mounts but only 2 that support most of the weight of the engine... so you'll want to replace this asap!

It definitely sounds like a strut and not an engine mount. Your car is standard, you would notice a significant difference from the norm if it were the passenger side mount that went. Get that strut checked out and perhaps the mount while you're at it but my money's on the strut.
