When are you going? I wouldn't bother with winters just yet... I live in Barrie and usually wait till mid Nov. I went to Chicago last Feb with my winters and they were great...granted it was much colder LOL

I drive to Nova Scotia (22 hrs) every Christmas, no problems at all. Anything you can do with summers or all seasons you can do with winters.
If I were you, i would wait unless youre in NY for a month. It's not that cold, and its not gonna snow (fingers crossed). Saves some winter tread.

Dude, you're nuts... every year?
Im from London, but now live in Halifax, and drove twice, I wouldnt do it again unless i had to. Well maybe it would be more enjoyable in my new 3 instead of a 10yr old better and uhaul.

i'm going for thanksgiving which is nov24.... last year did the same thing but i rented a van which was a good decision coz once i hit rochester ny on my way back it was snowing hard!!!!! so i don't want to be stuck in a rest area for 4-5 hrs waiting for the road to clear!!!!

Wow, now that's dedication!
I drove to Miami twice and won't be doing it again. The fun part is driving there but not so much coming back :(

go with the winters, as long as the outside temps are below 20 you are fine.
i see people all the time who use there winters all summer, some make it, some fail after 6-10 000k in 20+ temps

I'm from Nova Scotia, all my family is there, so we go down for Christmas. It cost me Approx $400 round trip to drive but close to $1000 to fly...therefore I choose driving.

Since you're going that late, just put the winters on LOL!!
I am from Moncton, NB...I used to drive down every Xmas as well, lately though I haven't had the time to do it. I go once every other summer for a couple weeks. Love it out there...Wish I could move to Halifax but it isn't quite the right time for that yet.
Have fun on your trip!!

I got caught once in a slight snow once with my summers on (different car but Z rated tires) and I could barely make the 10 minute commute safely. I barely made it up the driveway. That was with .5cm of snow on the ground. I wouldn't risk it again.
