My friend wants to sell her 1990 Supra and wants to know what people would pay for it.
Here's some info:
It has super low km because it is only summer driven.
It is specially serviced and detailed every fall before it goes in her garage for the winter.
It is black and in mint condition.
I am not sure which type of Supra it is.
It was built in Japan.
Everything is kept in pristine condition. No mods. All JDM parts only on the car.
If you know anything about prices for these types of cars, what would be the fair market value for such a car?

I would imagine the model would affect the price a great deal. Weren't some Supra's turbo'd and others not?

If its an original Canadian Turbo with a manual trans and is in pristine condition you can get 8-9 grand for it... 5-6 for an auto trans... non turbo? 3-4k

I just spoke her and she said it's a 315 hp turbo, 4 speed manual transmission with only 18,000 km. She is the original owner. It is in pristine condition. She used it on weekends to go to the country to ride her horse. That's true believe it or not. I would buy it for 8-9,000 dollars. Anyone have another valuation for it? When does a car become an antique?

18...*thousand*(?!?!?!) kilometres on an 1990 standard Turbo Supra? Holy shit. I bet I know a couple people who would be willing to shell out for that and who would keep it in tip-top shape. Hell, I'd take it if I could afford it. The 'grandfather law' or whatever it is is 15 years. You could get a car like this insured under specialty insurance without much issue given the condition and scarcity of cars like this.
i..... kinda.......... really wanna.... buy it ...... 18,000 km for only $9,000?
has she confirm that asking price?? and the specs of the car?
Where's Diego??? Come take my car and I'll pocket the extra money and drive around a Supra for a while instead... haha

Lol. No that is not her asking price but that is what DruidB says it's worth. She's wondering what the asking price should be. I think it would go for more than that.

haha.. damn.
but i agree. if the car is as pristine and as described above with such low km... def. will fetch a higher price

If it's a stock 1990 canadian supra with no mods, no way it will have 315 hp, 1990 is the older mark III model, which only came in either a 200 hp N/A inline 6 or a 230 hp Turbo inline 6. It will either have a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic...

Mmm...I'm looking around online and supposedly the manual trannies were 5-speed only for the Mark III Supras and in addition, the Turbo cars would have been rated at 232/240 for power. It'd probably be wise to get all the details straight before she starts trying to sell it.

She said she had it ordered and sent from Japan. I found a site that shows that in Japan only there was a 280 hp GTE Supra. You're right she needs all the details, but I think the ones she gave me are pretty much correct. So how much?

If it was an MK4 TT, that car would be gone in a heart beat.
Good luck with the sale.
its RHD so worth almost nothing
considering the ban on RHD cars that may hit Ontario soon

I will buy it from her for $1 right after the ban then. Gotta ask her about that RHD thing.

if it's a 1990 JDM mark III supra with a factory turbo engine then it's either a 2.0 Turbo or a 2.5 Turbo inline 6 with 205 and 276 horsepower respectively and 5 speed manual, or 4 speed auto
