Cranking/Grinding noise when a/c first turn-on in the morning

Brand new 2010 Mazda3 GS Sedan.
I noticed the noise couple days after I got the car, it usually only happens in the morning ...and it took me couple weeks to figure it out that it only happens when I turn-on the a/c the first time after the car has been parked for a long time (e.g. overnight).

Reported to the dealer (Markham Mazda) a few times already and they kept saying that they cannot reproduce the problem even though I told them exactly how it can be reproduce with a very high success rate. I bet they didn't try it the first thing they start the car in the parking lot.

I found on the internet that other peoples also reported the same problem on some 2010 Mazda3. But so far, I don't see anyone have found a solution yet.

Any manager / service advisor from another Mazda dealership in the GTA area willing to help ? It is a new car and all repair cost should be covered by Mazda ... I don't understand why Markham Mazda doesn't want to try to fix the problem for me.
It is a brand new car, so either fix the problem for me, or give me a new car !!!! :flaming
Don't just ask me to keep monitor it... or tell me to wait for it to get worst.

This is crazy .... I am not even a mechanic, why I have to do all the research and trying to find out what is wrong with my brand new car?! It is suppose to be under warranty. :flaming

It's the A/C clutch engaging. There is nothing wrong with your car, mine does it and just about every other 2010 does it. I even had Mazda look at it and they said it was normal. So no real need to get mad.

Really? What so special about the A/C Clutch in 2010 Mazda3 that give out the grinding noise? I have had 10+ car in the past (including a protege) and none of those cars make such noise with A/C clutch engaging.

Why it only happens after the car has been parked for many hours?
Why it only happens the first time turning on the A/C?

A "tick" sound is normal ...and all car does that, but a Cranking/Grinding noise ?!
My 2yrs old daughter jumps back and look really scared when she heard the loud Cranking noise just when she is ready to climb into the back seat.
That just happened to be the loudest case I have experienced so far. I have to remember not to turn-on the a/c when she is anywhere near the car.

I will try to record the noise when I got a chance next time and post the file.

What's the point of posting a file? I know what i sounds like as mine does the same thing. I mean it only does it when it first starts then goes away so obviously something isn't broke.

Mine does it too....normal...no need to worry. not all cars are as loud as this one but it is perfectly fine. Get used to it!!

Thank you guys. I wish the service adviser at Markham Mazda just told me that it is a well known and normal case for 2010 Mazda3 ... instead of asking me to bring it back a few times including leaving it there overnight .... and at the end ... said they cannot reproduce the problem and send me away.
