Just got a letter in the mail yesterday and looks like they gonna start doing a $9.99/month and you can rent as many movies as you like (1 at a time)

Seems like a good deal. I guess they are trying to use some kind of strategy from going bankrupt and attract Rogers video customers.

If this is the case, that would be so awesome! I have one walking distance from my house!
I was debating keeping Netflix as my movie streaming company, but if BB allows ALL movies to be rented under this new monthly rate, I may reconsider...

Did the flyer/letter/ad say whether all movies are included in this promo or were there title exclusions?

That's just for favorites, doesn't include new releases.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into an ALL-u-can-rant cuz thats all ppl seem to do with blockbusters these days

Yeah BB is still going in Canada but who knows for how long. Downloading and things like Netflix are going to cause it to go bankrupt also. It feels like every week I am working on a location closing.

Either way this is a pretty good deal.

It's funny, my business strategy professor told us a couple years ago that Blockbuster would be dead in 5 years and that they are in their last stages of business life. Blockbuster requires major change to make it profitable!

Or you could just get Netflix for $7.99/month and watch all the movies you want without having to drive over to Blockbuster every time you want to watch one. This is exactly why Blockbuster filed for Bankruptcy protection in the US.

This is good for me cuz if I were to stream all the movies, I would be way beyond my bandwidth limit in no time. This way I can get high quality movies that everyone can watch on the big TV anytime. It helps to have a BB on the way to work or something. This may be a good deal for people in my situation. Netflix will work out better for others.

I have the movie network TMN and HBO on demand. It is also possible to access on the internet. I also have a computer hooked to the hdtv. I read that the selection isn't great on Netflix. Is it in HD?

The deal is still decent for those who have bandwidth caps. Thankfully, i'm on unlimited, and an avid user of newsgroups :chuckle
