I want to use 235/40/18 Nitto NT01 tires for the 2011 lapping season.
Just wonder which rim should I pick.

I want to hear from folks running this tire dimension, I would like to know which rim are you using (diam, width, offset).
Also advise if your setup rubs or not.

My first pick was the Enkei RPF1, 18x7.5, offset 48mm.
I heard it may be better to use an 8in wheel, an 18x8, offset 48mm or 45mm???

Please advise.
Thanks

any reason for running such a large rim size for the track?

Go with a 17*8 rim. Tires are cheaper and easier to find, the rims are cheaper and most importantly, the rims are lighter.

Then which tire size would you recommend using on an 17*8 wheel size?
And which wheel offset should I be looking for?

The reason I was looking at 18*8 is that 235/40/18 is a common tire size, and you can find many track tires for that size, like the Nitto NT01, Toyo R888, etc.

You could go with a 245/40/17. Nice, wide tire, smaller sidewall and plenty of surface area on the track. In addition, there should be no problem getting a 245-width tire on an 8" wide rim.

I'm running 225/45/17 as my track tire size (Hankook Ventus Z214 C51 Compound) on 17*7.5 rims.

As for offset, I think you'd want between 32-40 but I'm not sure...I don't know the offset stuff too well so don't take my word on that.
