Hello,

This morning on my way to work I noticed some small jerking on my way to work at highway cruising speed. The jerking was so minor I wondered if it was just in my head. However this evening on my way back home all went haywire. The check engine came on it is a solid on no flashing and there is major jerking every time I press on the gas. To be able to drive the car I must keep it under 1800 RPM or else the jerking starts. I checked the obvious stuff when check engine came on engine oil and transmission fluid they are at normal levels.

Any one has any idea what it can be? I have left it at my local Mazda dealer from them to take a look tomorrow but this is bugging me. Not to mention my car is at 80236 KM I am sure they will give me problems and not want to cover the repair under the warranty.

Thanks

The problem was due to faulty oxygen sensor and faulty thermostat… Since I am at 80236 KM I must now fight with Mazda Canada to get the repairs covered under warranty … The repairs set me back 720$ Ouch…

My car needs a thermostat replacement, and I'm pretty sure that's not all it needs. However, my car is not under any warranty. I have never had any problems until a couple weeks ago. I know the cost of a thermostat replacement, but is there a different cost if you have a faulty thermostat? Were most of the costs towards the oxygen sensor or with the faulty thermostat? I am a bit scared now.
