To be safe, check your car's brake before driving away. Whoever did a stupid thing. Judge/police should declare it's a criminal 1st murder not a mischief.

Toronto police are investigating after nine cars were found with damage to their brake lines in three different areas of the city.
"We've had reports that between Monday and Tuesday —sometime overnight — we've had six vehicles parked on a street in the Queen Street [East] and Woodbine Avenue area had their brake lines damaged or tampered with," said Toronto Police Const. Wendy Drummond.
Eight of the incidents in the east end, said Drummond, appear to be related.
"They all happened during the same time period, they're parked on the same street, what the motivation is — or is there any motivation outside of mischief — that we don't know at this point," said Drummond.
"They happened at the same time, on the same street, with the same type of damage."
Two other vehicles, both belonging to the same owner, were tampered with the same night. That incident was at a private residence near Church Street and Carlton Street.
Police reported later Thursday that another vehicle parked on Bathurst Street just south of Dupont Street appeared to have its brake lines damaged. Police couldn't say if that incident was related to the other ones in the east of the city.
Police are asking drivers to check under their cars for dripping brake fluid and to pump the brakes while the car is in park to check for resistance.
On Wednesday, police in Guelph, Ont., reported similar vandalism.
Police in the city, which is located about 80 kilometres west of Toronto, said they were investigating "six reports of vandalism that occurred overnight in the northeast area of the city of Guelph," including two incidents of brake lines being cut.
Similar incidents were reported in Toronto during the 2008 federal election campaign when there were more than 30 reports of brake lines, phone and cable lines being cut in mid-town Toronto.
Most of the vandalism was targeted at the homes of Liberal supporters in St. Paul's riding.
