So 2 weeks ago I was stopped at a red light, and just going through my gears on my 5 speed manual tranny. The car wouldn't go into 2/3/4/5 gear. After a minute of trying they finally went in gear. Today, on my way back home from getting some MT 90 tranny fluid, it happened again. I was stopped at a light and it wouldn't go into 4th gear. Clutch was fully in both times. Car was warm, and it happened on a fair amount of driving both times. I have a 06 mazda 3 s with 105,000km. Any ideas?

Broken spring in the clutch???
It sounds like it maybe a clutch problem.

hmmm.... interesting, only happens when I'm stopped at a red light. You might be right though. When I get it checked, I'll get them to check that too. Just wanted peoples opinion on that.

My third gear use to pop out once in a while. After replacing the tranny fluid with MT-90 I haven't had any issues.
Might also be your clutch like the others have mentioned.

Redline transmission oil solved my third gear pop out issue but now it grinds once in a while when upshift and downshifting into third.
Is that a transmission issue or a clutch issue.
Im at 120,000 km with the stock factory clutch..

Sounds like a possible clutch wear problem or one of the shifter cables coming loose. Best to get it to a dealer asap.
MT-90 can help some shifting issues, but not being able to get into get is beyond "fluid" remedies

Could it be the bushing from the shifter ? My buddy had a problem similar to yours on his civic
