You know, when you get hooked into getting unnecessary service, your butt really hurts! That's what happens at Toronto Mazda. The only way they could get me back is...well...NEVER!!!

Very true...you can say no everytime.

I like MoT service precisely because I'm ok with saying no to things I don't need them to do. Everything else has been great.

Just stay away from Ken and you'll be fine next time.

True enough.

However, if given the choice to have your car serviced at a dealership where a service advisor constantly tries to up sell you on extra's you don't really require vs. a dealership where the service advisors are honest and don't play the upsell game, which one would you choose to take your car too? It speaks a lot to the overall service department mentality when the advisors are doing things like that.

Personally, I'd avoid them too in this case.

Which service department is actually honest? I haven't seen one yet.

Some are better than others. QEW and Dave Wood Mazda for instance. Neither play the upsell BS game. They may not be perfect and may still have their issues, but they are consistently better than most.

My biggest pet peeve about the dealerships is that they price everything based on effort in their little service book and not based on actual time and effort it takes for the work. So, you always get overcharged.

Huge + to infinity. The only reason my Speed ever sees the inside of a dealership every 8K is to make sure I have zero issues in case of warranty need, which to date, I haven't had the need for anyway...
My warranty expires on the MS3 next August and she won't see a dealer again after that point. Only Jimmy and Rich will work on my cars.
