With winter approaching, I've got a set of Fisher X-C skate skiis and am looking for a specialized ski shop that tune up the bases (grind and bevel bases, waxe, etc). Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thx

Kenmark at Yonge & Elgin Mills. Definitely the top place outside of Toronto and quite possibly the top place in Ontario...definitely up in the top few places. They've been around forever, they know their shit, and they have top-of-the-line equipment to do all this stuff.

I used to deal with Skiis and Bikes, but was not pleased with their service. I now use wither Kenmark or Sporting Life

Mmm...they do just about anything under the sun as far as I know. Best bet would be, like you said, to give them a call and see what they say. If they don't do it I'm sure they can recommend you to someone who does.

I'd also take a look at sign of the skiier pretty much right across the street from sporting life on yonge. Not the snowboard location the other one. I've bought stuff from there and have been pleased

Just gave kenmarksports a call and yes they do x-c skiis too. I'll be dropping by soon to get my sticks tuned up.

For sure. They have some great deals and the more you buy, the more they're willing to throw in. That's part of the beauty of it being a small shop, that and the service and knowledge the staff provide is unmatched anywhere I've been.

Let us know how it works out. I think you will be VERY happy you went there.

For those who bike, they do bikes in the summer and are FANTASTIC as well. They take their time and know what they're doing and will go above and beyond to make sure your bike is in tip-top shape. I took my bike in to get a couple things done and they called me and told me that my rear derailleur hanger was slightly bent and not only did they offer to fix it, they did it completely free of charge and did it the proper way (i.e. not just try and bend it back with a 2*4 or something of that sort).
