So I wasn't aware that my work was having a mdnight madness release. So I pretty much got one of my boys at electronics to hook me up with a copy before 12am, plus my discount.. so that was pretty bomb.

first match, i went from level 1 to level 4.

Now, I think I'm at level 10, with a kdr of 1.16, along with 84 assist.

2 of my matches wer lagging as shit. However I must say, this game is unnrreeaaaalll. Still getting used to it.

Yeah there are three versions.

The Regular which is the usual price of 59.99

Hardened: which includes everything regular does + the World @ War Zombie maps (all four) + bunch of other sh!t you probably wont care about (ie a fake medal...), I was under the understanding that this package was only $20 more than regular but I may be wrong as I'm not buyin it.

Prestige: All of the above + the RC car & its controller which has a small color LCD screen. I think this one is about $150 bucks & a total waste of money if you ask me.

Well for me, it was well worth it. I bought a new Xbox 360 Slim (250GB) and got the game for free with it. I can't complain...and besides, I got there at 11 PM...so it wasn't much of freezing as much as the anticipation.

my k/d is 1.10 soo far. my little bro plays and he kills my k/d in no time. i usualy have a 1.60+ k/d per round. but were at the point were the total k/d is low like 250kill/180death.

Anyone else start playing the campaign? I started last night and I think its pretty good. the only thing bugging me is the environments and weapons reflect the time period but all the character models look more modern. anyone else think the same?

The Graphics are not that good, but still pwned people. Played from 8pm to 4am. LMAO already 28 lvl. Kdr. Per game 2.67 and up. Playing S&D hardcore.

joking aside, it took me a while but you'll eventually get the hang of it. keeping a distance between yourself and the opponent is a good start. it also depends on your weapon set.

How do you guys get so good?
any particular pointers or techniques that can help a newb like me? I've only really played FPS since MW2. Really enjoy the games and now Black Ops.
I rarely get a K/D ratio of more that 0.60-0.75. - yeah im the guy who always helps jack up the score.... for the other team.. LOL.

On the side note, i think camping isn't bad. It's a tactic. You do whatever it takes to win. The reason why I strayed away from MW2 and started MAG was because MAG is more team based unlike MW2 where you run in, die, respawn. You try to use tactics to stay alive because if u die u gotta respawn at the spawn point and run back which can be far sometimes

so i played some mw2 last evening with a few buddies and relized its def the more competitive game. people know all the ins and outs and quick scoping is sooooo crap. needless to say it took a good 2-3 matches of domination before i got back to my typical 1.70+ k/d not camping LOL.
later that night i played black ops with some other buddies and was killing it like you wouldnt believe. wow coming from mw2 to black ops you feel like your god. everthing is like in slow-mo lol.
both games are meh, but with a good set of guys is fun.

I found if you upload your theatre games from the blackops website you only get 30 secs.... lame I can film it on a digital camera and post up my games but meh... wish I had a direct feed. KDR overall isn't that good 1.45 :(

IMHO GT5 was a big let down the sound is horrible, car list isn't that impressive, and the damage sucks
As for black ops, its prolly the least frustrating call of duty series to date, and the makers are actually patching the little problems that do exist, unlike the games from infinity ward...

the new patch, 1.04, came out today. I havent tried it yet, but some of the feedback doesnt look all to promising:


"With a party, I got in about 10% of all matches without it breaking the party up, 0% of all my host migrations have succeeded so far, 90% of the matches that even started up are ended due to host migration, connection interrupted. That leaves very little games that actually complete until the end and I'm not even talking about the lag during these games."

"For now, 5 games and 5 connection interrupted and lobby closed.
It seems to get worse.
I wait to test it better."

"Well this is the first time I've played BO for a few weeks, because of all the problems it had. I was hoping 1.04 would fix some of the major flaws, such as frame rate, connection drops, hard freezes, etc., especially seeing as this is the last patch they'll be able to release prior to Christmas. Sorry to say, within the first hour of playing, these problems were all still there. My last game was on Nuketown, where it froze about 1 minute into the game. As soon as that happened, I took the disc out and put it back in its box, and it won't come out again until patch 1.05. I'm not gonna put my PS3 at risk in order to beta test this game for Treyarch."

"I have been trying to play this joke now for 2 hours and have managed to complete 1 game, numerous lobby closed, numerous connection errors, but hey what the hell the cry babies can quick scope so every thing is ok. What clown do they have in charge of developement at Treyarch?"

"It was about 1.5 hours for me and 2 complete games.
1 at the very beginning and then about a half hour of lobbies and the start of a few games to be disconnected from the host.
1 more game and the rest was disconnects followed by the game freezing.

Those 2 games were great!

The rest was really frustrating."

Played on patch 1.04 today with a buddy. This was my experience exactly.

Man 1.04 ruined the game, I keep getting disconnected from games and the lag got even worse :( I hope they fix this soon, in the mean time back to MW2.

My buddy got to I think 33 by HIMSELF. Absolutely ridiculous it takes so much to kill zombies that late in the game if you don't have an upgraded ray gun or zues cannon!

Yup. Zeus (thundergun upgraded) is pretty much necessary to survive/advance to later rounds as you're attacked from every and all angles lol. It's real intense but awesome. We were breezing through. The littlest risk (if you miss ammo and u try to run back) can pretty much kill you and did. New goal is 40.
