Hi friends,

I've just got a new 10' Mazda 3 Sport GX with 205/55/16 steeles.

I'd like to know if it is absolutely necessary to put on winter tires as I don't have driving experience in Toronto's winter...

If so, could anyone recommend any good ones? I searched a little, and found lots of people are into Michelin X-ICE Xi2? quite pricy, though... well, it's a mazda, so budget is definitely a concern.:(

Many thanks for your help!:)

Cheers!

In addition to what Pearl said, check out our sponsors as quite a few of them have some fantastic winter tire/rim deals going on. Personally, I go to Allen over at Simply Tire but they're all great people and I'm sure you'll find one close to you!

if you plan on going to the states, check out discount tire or tire rack (detroit or buffalo respectively), both of which will be cheaper than buying from here. If thats not an option, check out the sponsors as someone suggested or try looking online at kijiji/craigslist for used winter tires.

You will need winter tires.

I just put my winters on my '10 GX Sport. Xi2 from Costco for $160/tire :complain plus install
Cant review them cuz no snow yet, but they are quiet on dry, just like all seasons
