Hi

I got my tranny fluid changed, i always thought it should be a power flush but the man at Mistertransmission dumped the fluid and then filled it back up and said he was done, 10 mins for 100 bucks seemed like a waste, i thought that they should do a power flush but he said they dont do that as it pushes shit from the pan to the rest of the tranny....

what are your thoughts....

Before bringing your car in did you not ask them what they are going to do?

how much tranny fluid did you use? If you do a flush you need at least 7 to 9 quarts...

I dont know how much he put into the car after the drain.
It did seem like alot came out and it did miss the pan and piss all over his shoes so thats good.

its full now when i check it and pinkish but after doing alot of searching on this board i see people are going back and forth on the debate of flush / drain

i called another large tranny shop and they say in the mazda3 they dont flush it as our cars have alot of cooler lines and they dont want to push in trash into the transmission...

i then called a regular shop (that does it all) and they said they like to use there machine and they clean it a few times to get rid of all the crap...

Anyways Im at 46,000km (30,000 miles) I guess ill just get it flushed in a year or two (20,000-25,000km) as I dont want to get nailed twice for the transmission fluid

that statement makes absolutely no sense :loco when the transmissionis running the fluid obviously goes through the cooler lines and nto the transmission, so if the cooler lines are dirty the "trash" as he called it would then go into the transmission anyway would it not?

also if you put clean fluid into dirty lines and not to mention the torque converter holds about 3-4 litres of that dirty fluid that does not get drained out on a drain and fill. So you put 3-4litres of clean fluid into 3-4 litres of dirty fluid. How is that good?

Mazda3's transmissions hold about 7.5 litres of oil. A drain and fill only removes 3-4 litres of oil.
