rust under side panels (even after getting it fixed) - and shifting into 3rd gear

Has anyone had rust under the side panels and gotten it "fixed".... and noticed it's coming back????

Also... just did a quick one night crash course for my friend on how to drive stick. (yes I know)... anyway... I'm noticing that when I'm putting it into 3rd gear that it's crunching and I'm putting the clutch down all the way. However, if I put the clutch down... count to three and then throw it into gear it's fine.

I'm thinking the synchros are messed... but I haven't brought it into the dealership... my buddy says it's the engine fluid.... ... thoughts before I bring my baby in (as I can't friggin deal without my car for more than a day)

Alot of people has brought their cars back for rust repairs... Some over 5 times

Uhhh... I get bad road rage when I'm driving auto... :P and I'll put a hole in the carpet from late nights of driving home and pulling my heel into nothing where the clutch is supposed to be... :P...

don't think I have ever seen a regular rental agency have standard cars. At least not in North America.

Last time I saw a car rental that came in manual was over 15 years ago. Had my buddy rent one so I could teach him how to drive stick. That poor Precidia was never the same. LOL

Take it in for the tranny. If it is the synchros they should replace under warranty. I had the scynchros for 2nd done on my car.
