View Full Version : New Civic Spotted...
Sooo... I know some people had complaints about the smiling front bumper of the 2010's when they first came out. (Its growing on me)
However... the 2012 Civics were spotted but this website... and they are BLAND!!! I love the more agressive styling mazda stays with. Somewhat athletic... a bit sexy, all wrapped up in a nice overall car.
Here's the Civic. Looks like... boring.

AGAIN, lol. I agree. I thought the last generation looked like ass (don't mind the two tier dash though) but now its even WORSE... wonder if the two door will be marginally better as with the current model?

oh man...can't imagine what this will look like "souped up". Just imagine that with an open mouth grille, exhaust, skirts and lips, slammed to the ground. lol

don't like that badonkadonk, plain flat. Front is alright if you want to be conservative.

I don't know what happened to Honda, they just don't make exciting cars anymore.
It makes me sad to say this but beige sells and Honda has practiced this sales tactic for the last 20 years. I don't recall ever seeing a Honda design that dropped my jaw. Although their designs looked good or ok; they were always very conservative. Unfortunately the design language we see in economy class cars like the Civic is here to stay. Tall bubbly cabins, high cowle and belt lines, stubby hoods and trunks and rounded noses are all consequences of the need to maximize interior space, improve aerodynamics, reduce wind noise, fuel consumption and improve pedestrian safety.
All cars in this class are just appliances in my opinion and the only thing that sets each one apart is the way they drive. That's pretty much the way the Civic has always been. Boring and reliable on the outside, but underneath they were and still are mildly exciting to drive. For people who have no choice but to buy this type of car, Civic and 3 have been the lesser of evils.
Personally, the trait that I think is most important to making a car fun to drive is lightness; so I would gladly pass over Civic and 3 for a Fit or 2.

Front of an Accord, rear end of a Prius. It's the kind of face not even a mother could love.

it looks like a fake,if you look closely there is a green button on left on the dash, thats the econ mode button for thier hybrids.this is a variation of the insight but not the civic since most civics sold will be using a gas engine

Well, I certainly hope I'm wrong and you're right. I did hear that the Civic was going to be redesigned to be smaller than the current version... but nobody knows anything about that.

It's not as bad as you may think, the design hasn't really changed much and according to my friend who works at the Alliston plant, the 2dr Si is sick.
But not believing anything till I see it.

Like others have said, the rear is Prius, and the front actually immediately struck me as a Saturn ion2...

I had a 2002 Civic LE and looked at the 2010 but really didn't find a difference. Same boring interior as always and I am sure with this one. Had no pickup either.

adults over 50 make up 60% of new buyers. Thats probably who the new civic is targeted towards, just like the fugly crosstour and zdx. We are going to see more and more beige appliances and its only just the beginning :bowdown

My father is over 50, and he bought a brand-new MX-5 a few months ago.
So the 50+ demographic can't be a complete write-off in terms of taste! :thumbsup
