Try measuring the center hole they might not be the same size as the oem and thus you might need hub centric wheels.

you have to tighten the lugs in a star/everyother lug pattern.

well here it is with the bolts done up.....
i did use the star pattern.
ive never had this problem , with steel winter wheels on my grand am, cavalier , aveo, or my shitty geo storm

i guess the real test if i did it right is to see if the car shakes like mad when im done
it's not a "problem" it's just universal steelies and not hubcentric fit.
last year when i went to buy tires, OEM steelies were all sold out. i am using a non hub centric one and it's fine.

Well i have the same issue....already called our tire specialist sponsors and they said it's fine. You can't use the adaptor on steelies only alloy rims. I also asked them if they are safety issue and they said NO. just make sure you torq your lug nuts

I know this isn't something you want to hear, but you paid too much money for what really isn't the best winter tire choice on these cars. I hope you're not doing a lot of highway driving as the soft sidewalls and compounds of this tire make it really loud and the handling very squishy. On the positive, they are decent in the snow. All in all, you could have got a better deal on a better winter tire with either our sponsors, or in the buy/sell section of the site.

Just go to a tire shop and get rings and then reinstall the rims. Shouldn't be more then $20.
Also those tires are great. I had them and I did 180km a day on highway with no issues. Tire isn't too soft and certainly isn't squishy for a winter tire unless your going to compare it to a uhp winter tire. Great tire for deep snow and does very well on the highway and those dry days. Sure there might be better tires for highway but this is still a great tire.

The rings or adaptor won't work for steelies only alloys as per our sponsors.

If you're happy with them, then you're entitled to your opinion.
Here is mine.
These tires are decent in the snow because they are very soft. This tire is also not an ideal winter tire for any significant highway driving as it has a Q speed rating which frankly, is low even for a winter tire in the 16" sizing and is too many steps down from the OEM tire spec speed rating for this vehicle. Can you run them on a Mazda3, sure you can. Should anyone recommend them as an ideal choice for this car? No, not really. There are better and more suitable choices for this car.

Those are a good snow tire. If you get something that "performs better on hwy" or gets better tire wear, you are sacrificing snow/slush performance. That defeats the purpose of snow tires IMO...and moves you a step closer to using all seasons. Who cares if you get 3 seasons out of them, you won't regret it when it snows.
You did pay a lot for those tires though. A set of those brand new with steelies isn't much more than that, and you could have gotten hubcentric steelies too.

ok, discussion over. OP's question/concerned has been addressed, anything else is just beating a dead horse.
