Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the the size of the standard door speakers front and rear with the Bose system? Also, are there any other sizes that will fit in our doors I could use? Should I replace the two tweeters too, or should they be good enough to handle it if I get a more powerful 4 channel amp?

I believe the fronts are 6x8 and the rears are 5x7, but wait for someone to confirm.

What speakers you looking at?

hmmm...been looking at some speakers and I'd really like to get a matching set of 4 for my car. Either 5x7 or 6x8, I don't care. What would be easier to fit? 5x7's in the front or 6x8's in the rear? I've been looking at two different combos of speakers and amps.

6x8 all around I believe.

But get a 6.5" component set for the fronts. Replace the tweeters and get a conversion plate about $15 or make your own.

Is anyone sure about anything, or is this all just beliefs? lol. I want to replace the stock speakers with ones of the same size for simplicity's sake. I'll probably leave the tweeters not hooked up because just about all speakers come with built in tweeters anyway.

metraonline.com.....that's where I got my info....dave would probably know best, pm him. I've seen most 3's except the speeds speakers.

they are all 6x8s.

6x8 and 5x7 fit. All the speakers are the same size (I had bose, and replaced them all).

replace all speakers including the tweeters with two component sets. There is an adapter that merges a 5.25" speaker with a tweeter into a 5x7 opening. Get that for the rear, and get a 5.25" component set up front. Put that tweeter up where the bose one used to be. Use some electrical tape to mount them in where the old tweeters went in. Also, use some foam speaker baffles because water gets in behind the door panels.
