Just wondering on whether the few users I see on here once in a while that have joined in 2004, 2005, 2006 etc, and have like 9, or 50, 60 posts, nothing to add to the discussion but just sort of look around or not even on a lot at all?
And for the new users who have like 1000's of posts (ok exagerating a bit) in their first couple of months, hows the carpal tunnel treating you?? :chuckle
sorry mods could some one please update the title to read "high" post counts and not "hugh" thank you
Also anyone can post up on their experiences even if you're not at one of the extremes

I've been a member for what I consider quiet a bit (2 years and 5 months now). My post count has been quiet steady, I try not to spam all over the place and just contribute when I feel its beneficial for the community. As an active internet user with a membership with a few other internet communities, I find TM3 to be quiet a unique and close knit community, more than any other I've come across.
I don't have a Mazda 3 around (although its still in the family) I still come here on a daily basis and read, just because I find it interesting.

i find a lot of OT on these boards, which makes for fun posts.
Also, having an 05 - anything 3-related has pretty much been covered. so searching and getting answers means less posts.
the newer 09-10 members/owners will have more questions that havent been covered yet.

I'm sure I'm not alone on this when I say that I post alot more during the season, as opposed to posting during the off- season. I'm on every single day... multiple times during the day.... but don't post as much during the off- season.

yeah wasn't sure how to fit in the regular contributers or the Post whores, considering it was a poll to ask the people who have 30 or less posts in 3 + years or 100's in mere weeks so I just left it out

hahaha... speak for yourself. During the winter months, I don't pay much (or as much attention) to my ride, modding my ride, the modding world, shows, Import industry, etc.

I dunno I have found that new users to this site .... are post whoring more than ever ..... :bang. It's fine to ask questions that have been asked 10000 times but posting in the for sale section get's me. Stating ... "wow these are nice if only I had the money" or "I'd buy these if I didn't just buy my rims last year" . Overall lame posts like this add nothing to the sellers thread . Meh ... some of us do post a lot when I was new in 07 I posted a lot to get to know people (considering I'm from out of town). There is nothing wrong IMO in posting to get answers find out about meets or members but lame ass post are dumb... I don't think I'm too bad considering my join Date Apr 2007 and my total Posts are 2,863.
BUT some members can get away with posting lots why you ask... because they are funny

^ I don't think posting in the classified section ups your post count.
I've been on here since early 06 and I guess my post count is kinda low. I don't own a MZ3 anymore but I'm still on here daily just cause I find TM3 to be so much better then other forums.
People on here actually like helping each other and there doesn't seem to be any e-thugs on here lol

Been a member for a while... Wife used to own a 3, I've owned a Pro for the the last 8 years, picking up my MS3 today, so I'll be around more now. I was pretty active on TOP, I'm sure I'll be more active over here now.
There are far too many newbs on here who are here just to socialize and have NOTHING techinical to add whatsoever. I can think of quite a few ppl on here who talk way to much and really add nothing of value to the community. lol
And then there are the ppl who I look forward to reading what they say. Helps me learn new things about the car everyday. I like the information about the cars, as well as the VALUABLE information about things like dealers, shops, products, tips, etc. It is extremely helpful when it comes to making decisions about the car :)

im guilty of being one of those ppl. :( my knowledge of cars is limited and so i try to engage myself in conversations in order to understand more. some threads become too much for me to understand so i just back out and continue reading trying to understand the issue/concpet.

The forum is suppose to be a community. Alot people have noted that this forum is a pretty close knit group and its the socializing that goes on which builds these relationship. If people only post on technical issues..then TM3 will just be an online encyclopedia.

This is exactly why I started this thread! Once in a while I'd see someone reply to a post and I'd see that that they've been here for 5 years and have 38 posts! that got me wondering how they were using the community so I asked.

I think that if you have a post count over 5000 and aren't remotely funny in any way you can consider yourself an attention whore.
And yes I'm acutely aware of the irony of my post given MY post count.

I agree with you. You get the real value of this community by building relationships, connections and friends.

How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to a different section
2 to argue then move it to the Lounge section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.
That sums it up.
