My stock 16" Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires were taken off for winters.
They are 99% new, only have 800KM on them (Got the car in Nov...).
I now have 2 options:
1. keep the 16" tires and buy a set of 16" rims in summer, and put them together.
2. sell them for $$ and buy 17" rims + tires...
My first MZ3..
Any suggestion?:loco
Thanks!

Just buy 16" rims it'll be cheaper and lighter meaning more gas mileage.

As a general rule of thumb, OEM tires aren't worth shit. That's because as discussed in another thread, they aren't the same as their retail equivalent. This is to keep the MSRP low for the car. So even with 800km on them, you're not going to get as much money as you think you would.
Sell them for a few hundred bucks, and use it towards a new set of 17", 18" or even 19" rims plus tires.
Go big or go home. Life is too short to be worrying about gas mileage. In the end, you'll save a few bucks between a 16" and a 17" set up.
i would have just bought steelies for the winters.
but since you've already mounted the winters on the oem, go 17". sell the bridgestone for what's it's worth.

:thumbsup well said.
I was in the exact same position as you.
Bought GX in Oct/Nov with 16 steelies. 1000km on Turanza tires
Bought winter tires and mounted on stock steelies.
Sold Turanzas
Bought 17" used rims
Now... waiting to buy 17 tires

Any idea how much they would be would be worth?
Is waiting for spring to sell them a good idea? I think people will be getting summers by that time...em... Now should be a good time for getting used 17" rims...

You should have let them go maybe a few weeks before. Lots of people out looking for 16s rims for winter.
BTW bigger wheels don't equal "performance". So if that's what you want I'll think more first. If you are going for looks then why not.

No, the GX has stock 16" steeles... that's why i'm thinking about the 17" rims for the looks :)

As already said above sell them and get yourself a set of 17 or 18" rims+tire combo and you will ask yourself why you didn't do this earlier.

I would get 17" or 18" for Summers, and just sell the 16" tires

I sold mine on craigslist last year. I asked 240 for the set. Don' t expect to sell them for allot since they really have a bad reputation, but I am glad that I did. My altimax hp' s were so much better.
When I sold my stock Toyo 16" tires I got $220.. I had then for sale on tm3 , kijiji, and eBay ... They sold on eBay.
The guy who bought them was return a lease car

If you have 17" summers, and 16" winters, do you have to do any adjustments when changing them?

No
205/55/16 is stock so as long as your 17's tire size is either 205/50/17 or 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 you will be fine as thoses are pretty much the same height

I am in the process of selling my tires, but I'd like a second opinion on what my starting price should be on Kijiji. Got the car in July, tires have approx 3000 km on them. Is $400 too much?

im in the same boat, trying to decide if i wanna sell the gt rims and near new goodyear eagle gt tires(not sure how many km's on them) for money to upgrade to 18" rims for the summer, anyone know how much i'd have to start at for the rims and tires? rims are pretty clean too, no curb rashes or anything of that sort

I've got a 2010 GS Sport so I too have 16" Bridgestone Turanza's and my plan is to keep them even after I get new rims (my stock rims will be wrapped in winters). Selling them won't net me that much so I figure I'll just keep it in case of emergency or what not. Just my two cents! :.02

That is way too much for 2nd hand oem tires. You can probably get rid of them for $200 to $250 as they are only 16 inch.

I sold my OEMs for $200 with about 4000km on them.
It's easy on kijiji. Took me 3 days :)
I kept the rims for snow tires, and bought some 17s for the summer
from what i gather the tires are worth $200-$250. How much are the stock steelies worth, another $200? Is it better to sell the tires and oem steel rim separate?
EDIT: i forgot about the hubcaps, they are worth something as well right :chuckle
