Just a list of repairs that have gone into my Mazda3, I have just accepted the fact and still made the car into what it is. Probably never buy another Mazda again but still enjoy the car while meeting the payments on a student budget.

Repairs covered under warranty
- Rear passenger shock replaced
- Sunroof motor replaced
- Repaired engine knocking
- 3rd and 4th gears replaced

Repairs not covered under warranty
- Replaced engine
- MAF sensor

Current Problems
- Airbag light
- Noises from rear windshield (which is now muffled out by torque damper, mount inserts, and CBE:))
- Outside temperature sensor

I didnt and I dont drive my car hard. I was and still am a student and barely make ends meet. It seems like the dealer did some temporary fixes to the knocking problems cause I ended up replacing the whole engine about 20,000k later anyways. I am in the middle of writing a letter to mazda because I have already replaced the engine and still paying off the car, something is not right.

Oh and the sunroof motor has gone, for the second time.

Sounds like this car was not made on friday, it was made on Saturday afternoon, after a long 65 hour workweek... :(

Sounds awful - can you sell the car? Maybe buy something reliable like a g5?

(kidding on the pontiac, nobody would really do that would they?)

+1 - Yeah, exactly I don't remember reading any other threads on similar problems that you've gone through.

>_> May we ask from which dealer, and why isn't engine covered under warranty? Does it have more than the 100,000km warranty limit, or whatever the km limit is?

It isn't made on a Saturday, sounds like the workers in Hofu or Hiroshima crashed the factory doors on a Sunday while they were all drunk on sake, then cobbled the car together for fun while playing McGuyver episodes... over the radio (and in English).

Its wasnt under warrenty at the time, I was about 8,000k short from it being covered...

I dont really feel like mentioning the dealership that dealt with my car. However, I will make it very clear which one it was if I dont get any kind of compensation for all the headaches and repairs. My last two cars were used and gave me minor problems (which i thought was a lot back then), hence the reason why I went and bought a brand new car so I wouldnt be stuck at the garage trying to study for exams in the waiting room, which is what I ended up doing, only this time it was at the dealership on their leather seats...

My 3rd gear started to popping out again about 10,000k ago. I flushed the transmission and replaced the fluid with redline and the problem hasnt occured since. Hopefully it doesnt again, cause if it does that would be the second repair to the second major component on the car. Basically at this point everything on the car has been changed/repaired at least once, the only thing that can go now is the transmission.

I have thought of selling it but to be honestly as stupid as this sounds but I wouldnt want to burdern anyone else with this car. I have made the nessessary repairs and if the transmission does go at this point I might as well fix it since I did everything up untill now.

Im hoping Mazda does help me out, I wanted to buy a civic initially, my dad suggested mazda since he had a protege about 20 years ago.
