My car seems to be idling a little higher than usual. Last week I noticed that the idle in Neutral when completely warm (after a drive) has been at 800 RPM. Its been at 750 RPM for as long as I can remember. What could be causing the high idle?

The RPM does not change at all. It stays exactly at 800 RPM. The car is bone stock and nothing has changed in the last few weeks except for an oil change (went with 5W30 synth) and rust proofing.

Possibly due to the colder weather we have had
50 RPM isnt much of a difference, i dont think you need to be worried

mine idles around 800 as well, like darkkilla said, shouldn't be anything to be worried about

Just wondering why the outside temperature would matter AFTER the car has warmed up to operating temperature?

Does it go down to 750 RPM during summer time?

I'd think colder air=denser air. Which means to run at a set fuel air mix more fuel is needed to avoid lean run. Resulting in faster idle. Assuming the intake air amount cannot be adjusted at idle.

That I wouldn't be able to tell you since I've just had it for two days.
My old car actually idled higher in the winte as well at around 1.1 k then at 900 in the summer

Colder air can account for that difference.
Also, what vent setting do you have your heating system set at? Certain settings will kick in the AC compressor which places more load on the engine and will increase rpm by 50-150rpm approximately. Many people turn their vent setting onto full/partial window in the winter and these settings will kick in the compressor periodically.

Update:

Idle is back to 750 now... weird thing is I was parked after a drive in the same spot but it was a degree cooler since it was sitting at 800 last time.

Weird thing I noticed idle is higher in closed environments or underground
