Rough Idle 05 hatch 2.3L

Ive been doing alot of reading about low idle, mine has the same problem
normally its 750 however sometimes when i come to a stop light it will go to 600, as low as 500 and then seems like its going to bog out but then comes back.

it seems like it could be my Maf / o2 sensor or purge valves (where can I find those valves?)



Where would you start first ? I dont have a CEL and my spark plugs are good so its not that.

Im bone stock 47,000km. Im a new owner so I dont know if this is new or not.
I did call the dealer to see if there was any recalls and there are none.

Mine was doing exactly the same thing (05 sedan 2.3). So I took off the TB as per previous discussions and yep - it was caked with carbon on the intake side. Cleaned it off with an old toothbrush and some TB cleaner from canadian tire and it cleaned-up great. RPM's are now much more responsive and idle seems to have stabilized. It's well worth doing this as it's easy (about 60mins total) and cheap ($6.95 at CT).

You are totaly right, cleaning it all up has made the car run Great. bang on perfect rpm now...
