hey guys, just purchased a 2006 3 GT and has near new goodyear eagle gt tires on the car, wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them and if they're good/decent in the winter or not? pondering if i should go out and buy proper winter tires and just use the all seasons as summer tires, or quiet possibly sell the near new all seasons and buy summer tires

I got my 07 with nearly brand new eagle GTs. I've been on them for about a month and a half so far and I find that they're nothing special, but not definitely not bad as far as all seasons go. Nothing to complain about on dry pavement, though I didn't really get to push them hard. Surprisingly good on wet pavement, acceptable in light to moderate snow (I've only really driven in about 5-7 cm, dunno how they fare in deeper stuff). they're pretty bad on ice and in slush though so beware. Then again, you have to keep in mind that they're all seasons. I was hoping to sneak by this winter on these but it's not the best idea, not strictly speaking unsafe, but winters would be more suitable for winter (duh).

Death trap in winter especially if you drive in an area with hills or in residential areas where the snow gets packed and turns into ice.

thanks guys, ya i live in waterdown actually and to get anywhere it's all hills so i think i'll spend the money to get some proper winter tires and possibly sell the eagle gt's and upgrade to 18" for the summer

Eagle RSAs are trash, in my opinion.

Agreed. The GTs are a decent step up from the RSAs though.

purchased a set of firestone winterforces for the 3, spent $800 for the tires, 16" steelies and install/balance, pick up the car tomorrow
