For gift exchanges under $20 I always like to go for the easy options like the amount in cash or scratch tickets. Liquor is always well received too.

Not sure how I'd feel if they won the big prize with the ticket I gave them.
prepaid iTunes card went on sale at Walmart. You get 3 $10 cards for $25.
When I gotta be cheap on a gift, I usually cross border and pick up stuff you cant get here.
last year I bought a bunch of chocolates that arent available here. Cost me $10 for 3 bags of m&m's but the person that got them really appreciated it.

premium coffee and or tea sets. If the person likes coffee or tea they'll love it, and it can work for any price range. $15 1lb of ground organic coffee, or some fancy jasmine tea. $20- $100 nice tea brewing set (personal size tea pot with permanent loose tea filter and matching cup.

Perfect timing lol I just finished my list ahaha!
Buying the Mommy a Canada Goose Expedition Parka or a Danier Leather Coat, compost pails from Crate and Barrel and a Winners gift card
Buying the friends Sephora's 18 Piece Nail Colour Set, bareMinerals Bright Now Kit, Sq1's Gold Certificate Gift Card x I Dont Know (lol)
Buying the bf's Mommy a few things from Crate and Barrel and probably a gift certificate for groceries =P
Bought the bf 2 advance Ultra AVX tickets to Tron (he has to go with me!!!), 2 tickets to the Raptors vs Miami game for him and 1 of his buddies and a watch
Starting my shopping today..lol *walks under a cloud of shame*
I would suggest buying a gift from a store that the person shops at the most, because you can get a gift certificate and if they want something else from teh store (they will most of the time), they can just exchange the gift :D
And I am getting Chanel's Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Make up, Miss Dior Cherie, Chocolate Mini Uggs, Chestnut Short Uggs, a few Shiseido and Clinique products for muhself!!..w00t!

i remember when I had absolutely no income during christmas time.
I sold some stuff (discman, CD's, etc) and bought my family gloves, a scarf and a toque at the Dollar store. It killed me that I couldnt get anything better or more expensive, but definitely had to give them something for supporting me during a bad time

18 Piece OPI by Sephora Mini Nail Set, I think its $40-$45 (1 OPI nail polish is actually $12!!!) And they will like this if they go to a salon and spa.
Oh! And Sephora will gift wrap this for you for free, the boxes and ribbons are pretty.
And make-up (Sephora has value sets and M.A.C has the Tartan Tales collection out right now) or fragrance, I just picked up a $130 "value set" (lol) for the Miss Dior Cherie perfume, it comes with a white jewellry box, purse spray (that kinds reminds me of Chanel's quilted bags), 100mL and body milk :D

Love my Xmas shopping list:
Mom: 4 new winter tires from tires23 $460
Myself: BT head unit (from another forum member) $100
No dad, no siblings, no gift exchanges at work.
I won't lie, I also bought a couple knick knacks so that under the tree doesn't look so bare this upcoming week, but it all didn't end up costing me more than $20.
If it helps any, I'm all for gift cards. If you have only an idea of what the recipient likes, give them a gift card for a related store or restaurant or venue.
Example: I love concerts - a Ticketmaster GC would be awesome for me to get from someone... Except that I don't exchange gifts with anyone except mom. :P

my side of the family decided (for the adults) we're going to do a gift exchange. But we cant give cash, lotto tix, gift certificates, etc. It has to be a boxed gift. The onus is on us to make it a thoughtful gift (under $100)
in-laws side was easier for me - cause I really couldnt give a shit what I got them. "here's a wallet for you, here's a sweater for you, a picture frame for you", and "oh thanks for the waffle iron. I always wanted one" (/sarcasm)

Well TM3, its that wonderful time of year again,
Anyone ask for anything specific?
I already know what I am getting from my mom (vanity plates), dad I asked for a set of weathertech floor mats or money towards a new amp or DSLR.
I have no idea what the g.f got me, my birthday is a week before xmas so she spoiled me this year from what she has said. I think there might be a gopro in one of the boxes but could be completely wrong.
I did't ask for anything specific except the plates this year, so I am in for a complete surprise.
99% of my shopping is done already, just need to order a few parts of a site for my dads Harley if I can find one, and a few more things for the g.f. I managed to do all my shopping in 1 trip to 1 mall so far, go in for what you know you want to get someone and gtfo!
Anything I would like, is expensive, and I would rather by it myself (header ~500US, exhaust about the same...) I don't feel that I actually NEED anything.
Whats on everyones wish list this year?

I got a call from my dad last night, probably the best call I have ever gotten at Xmas from him.
Dad: Now that you're in your 30s I really have no idea what to buy you guys for xmas. What electronics do you need?
Me: no worries dad, were old enough now we do not need crazy gifts. The basics are fine.
Dad: Ok let's make this easy for your old man, where do you buy your car mods from? Will they know you're car if I ask them what you need?
Me: Ill send you a list.
Dad: don't go getting ridiculous on me
Gotta love the old man still trying to play Santa at 60. Trust me when I say these gifts will say from Santa. Now I have to decide on whether to finish out the MZ skirt package or look at new rims or painting existing.

At hwy 7 and keele there is a jeweler ( in the big plaza beside concord pets.)
He will allow you to design jewelry, set your price, and he'll do it up for you.
I designed a ring for my ex there. White gold with 1 black diamond and 2 rubys. ( he actually liked the design so much he brought one in to sell in his store )
My dad has been going to him for years for jewelry for my mom and repairs. He is also a wholesaler. So stuff is a little cheaper.
