so this summer after my accident i had my whole car repainted at FixAuto in Ajax. i got the car back and found this strange coating on my rims, couldnt figure it out at first, and then i brought them into John at Exclussive and he said i have overspray on my rims.
He recommended a clay bar for removing it, but what kind, from where, or any other options, these rims were two weeks old before the accident now they have overspray. i want them to be like new for this spring.

Claybar kits are available everywhere from Cdn. Tire or even Walmart. May be a bit hard to find this time of year.
NextMod should be able to hook you up or e-shine which are both sponsors here.
Rubbing compound may be necessary if there is a lot of overspray. Have you tried taking them back to Fix to have them correct the issue?

I would take it back to FixAuto. It's their fault not yours that there is overspray on your rims therefore they should fix it!

+1.
I recently got my car fixed with SP for a door, but i noticed overspray over parts of the car after I got a car wash. They have offered to clean it up, no questions asked.

i dont think FixAuto will do anything, or if i want them touching my rims. but i guess its worth a shot. problem is im in waterloo now all the time for school, not home whenever they are open

was the repair done through insurance?
If it was done through insurance and it was at an insurance recomended shop, then tell the insurance company that as you were switching over to your winter tires you discovered overspray on your rims, that occured as a result of the repairs done on your car through that company. If the insurance company puts pressure on the shop to fix it they will listen. It is very financial beneficial to be on an insurance comanies list of approved shops

I'd still tell insurance as it's still part of the claim of the initial incident.
