Hello everyone,

I was wondering if you guys think it would be worth it to put "nicer" looking rims than steelies for winter tires (probably going to buy michelin x-ice 2) for a upcoming Mazda 3 GT.

Also, if you guys have any suggestions for the other rims, that would be great :)

Thanks!

Me personally I never liked steel rims.. I used my stock rims for winter and bought a set of rims and tires for summer

Thanks! Any cheap places to buy rims? Also, the stock rims are 17" I don't know if the winter tires will fit.

It's kinda hard for anyone to help if you don't tell us the size of winter tires?

Haha, totally over-glanced that sorry. Just woke up. I don't have any right now, but I was just curious if the winter tires would work on 17" stock rims for the GT cause as far as I know, most people tend to buy 16". The snow tires I'm looking into are Michelin X-Ice 2s.

If 17" snow tires don't work on stock rims, can you suggest some 16" rims for 16" snow tires?

Sorry for the confusion.

17" snow tires will go fit your stock 17" rims

Would there be enough clearance? Can you tell me some cheap places where I can buy rims + tires in Toronto? I looked up the other thread, seems like its 6 years old.

yes, 17's or 16's will fit. As for where? Perhaps you should look around the board a bit:

If you go with 17" snow tires just run the stock size 205/50/17

As for places in Toronto to buy rims and tires I can't help you cause I don't live in Toronto area

To the OP: I think you're a little confused about how tire sizes work. But regardless, there will not be clearance issues. Check our sponsors (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?115-Sponsors) for deals, or the BST (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?70-Buy-Sell-Trade-Automotive-Parts) if you don't mind used.
