* The Porta-Jump™ emergency jump starter charges your battery
right through your car’s cigarette lighter socket, so you never have
to leave your vehicle. That means extra safety and security -
especially at night if you or a loved one is on a dark road.

* No cables required! Forget about trying to figure which end of the
cable to connect to which battery terminal. You don't need another
car in order to jump start yours.

* Most other "battery boosters" are disposable and you have to throw
them away after just one use. But you can use the Porta-Jump™
over and over again. It comes with a charge unit so it actually
recharges itself! So it's ready whenever you need to jump start your
car in a an emergency because of a dead battery.

* The Porta-Jump™ emergency jump starter is fully charged and
ready to go right out of the box! It's ready when you need it!

* You need a Porta-Jump™ emergency jump starter in every car -
it's an easy way to make sure everyone in your family is safe and
protected from dead batteries.

after tax and S&H?

I've had something similar from Crappy Tire
Works alright - got to have it fully charged and then let it sit plugged in for about 1/2 an hour.
If you try to crank it and fail - you got to wait another 1/2 hour before trying again.
Also - it will only work if you still have some battery power left. If its completely dead - you'll still need a stronger boost (either car-to-car or a fully charged booster pack)

1/ I wouldnt suggest having this in your trunk as an emergency - and rely on it to work
2/ You could check kijiji for the emergency booster packs that connect right to the terminals.
3/ Convince your boss/management to have one at your workplace in case any employees need a boost

I'll stick with jumper cables thanks.

Not a bad idea in theory, but too many cons vs. an actual boost pack, which can be had for around the same price.

Meh, I'll stick with packing the jumpers in the back of the car, there's always another car around willing to give you a boost if need be.
