I'm not a huge fan of Ford, in fact I believe he's going to do some things to hurt toronto, but in this matter, I believe this is a good change.

I tried googling this topic but still a bit unclear. May be a stupid question but what is car tax exactly?

its the cash grab by the city govt for those who live in GTA...$60 personal vehicle tax on top of the registration fee we pay every yr/renewal. just paid recently to get my stickers.

For those of you who don't know about the mentioned tax; here is some information from the City of Toronto website. Not sure how long it will be there but I am sure it'll be there for a bit.

I just moved back in the city this yr and I had to pay to renew a month ago...as much as it's another tax, the last city hall acted like the international city state that Toronto is, and pushed thru an agenda...good politics does not necessarily mean good leadership.
I want to see a plan for them/Ford to manage the city...bringing respect to taxpayers is good politics, dismantling tansit and encouraging cheap asses to drive around will only clog up the streets with more sh!tboxes...maybe an extreme example...and since we all drive here, none of us are that cheap anyway...so...
the source of revenue, will need to be replaced...what surprises me is that the TTC gained ridership and MADE money finally...having said that, having moved back into the city, I also started taking transit...
What will impress me, for Ford to be a good mayor, he must be able to carry on the good politics with good leadership, and not let his politics come at the expense of effective and financially balanced plans and action.

Which is not going to happen as he originally said there will be no cuts in services and now it will be no major cuts in services. His Royal Rotundness has no idea what the long-term consequences are i.e. remember Mike Harris & the Common Revolution?

There is no such thing as them "making money", they had a 60 million dollar surplus. They made no money, they just took a bunch of the taxpayers money, and never spend it.

Keep in mind...Toronto is in WAY better hands then it woulda been with Mr. E-health but lets not get into debate about that.
So far two promises made, two kept (this + and reduction in slush funds that councillors have).
