Help,
I've had my 8,000k HIDs for about a year now and the passenger side is starting to loose its blue-ness. Its been fine up until a couple of weeks ago is when I started noticing the difference against my garage door.
Does this mean blub is giving out?
The install was free when I bought the kit, could it also be the installer was not careful enough and might have gotten the bulb dirty?
Any sort of insite on this issue would be great, I appreciate everyone help in advance...

It could be a number of things. First, depending on how many hours are on your bulb, the colour change could simply be colour shift. I won't go into detail (google it) but HID bulbs change colour, the term is called colour shift. The other scenario is that your bulb is starting to go. For me, 5000k - 6000k bulbs turn green, then pink, then they are gone. Sometimes they just dull out and become less bright; but that isn't what you are asking.
Best thing to do is switch the bulbs from one side to the other. If the problem follows then you have a bad bulb.

When you say it's loosing it's blueness, do you mean it's becoming more white like going towards what a 6k bulb looks like? If you've only used them for a year, it shouldn't be changing colour at all.
A dirty bulb shouldn't causet this.

Yes, exactly its becoming more white-ish, looking more like 6k instead of 8k.
Could it be a quality issue with the set?

If it's becoming more white it means it's aging and possibly loosing lumens. Unless you've used them for an extensive amount of hours, you shouldn't see it loosing colour.

A new pair go for $20 from DDM. Just order another pair, and be done with it.

I had the same issue with my 6000K I bought a few years ago. It turned to a purple hue then would turn off after a few minutes. I got frustrated with them so I just ended up putting back my stock Xenon bulbs.

After further inspection, it wasnt my passenger side that was going more 'white-ish' or as i said before, loosing its 'blue-ness'. Its actually my driver side which is appears to be giving up. It looks more blue which explains why I thougth the passenger was loosing its colour.
I spoke to a buddy about my problem and he mentioned that when a blub is going it goes up in colour and eventually fails. This is when i realized my problem. Luckly I have a extra set of HID's and will replace them when I do the clear lens mod to my headlights. (Unless I get enough extra funds to get McGuyver to do the mod)

One thing i noticed with my new HID's, while im crousing (no acceleration), my lights looks more blue. and when i hit the pedal to accelerate they become more white. difference is minimal, you really need to be goin slow and pay special attention to notice it. This is normal i gues, it makes sense, alternator provides more current, which changes the power input to your ballast.
