im looking to buy a used snowboard for this year. and im way out of the loop now. i want to get a burton because thats the brand i had before. does anyone recommend a certain board model? or even a different brand? i would say im intermediate and i would like to get something decent that will last me a while. also im going to be getting bindings. any advice would be appreciated.

first and most important thing you have to ask yourself is what kind of board do you want, do you want a free ride board, a board for the half pipe, a deep powder board, a racing (slolom board)

definitely a free ride board, i will be going 3-4 times a year. dont really go in the half pipe much, occasionally i go into the street park or whatever its called. mostly just cruise the hills tho.

I recommend getting a good condition used higher end board than a new entry level one... i got a used burton supermodel last year and it was a huge improvement over the burton bullet i had before that which itself was a big improvement over other starter boards i've had/ridden in the past. I think i paid 400 something for the supermodel with bindings which is a steal compared to new

yea i don't want an entry level, but i don't know how high end i can get. i was hoping to get one for closer to $300ish.

if you are looking for a burton board, try to find a used custom!

thats more of a park board... supermodel is more all mountain
i dunno, maybe i'm just interpreting what he wants incorrectly.
something that you can occasionaly go to the park or go freestyle with but still pretty much own the groomers for resort riding.
supermodel is solid board too though

hmm i might check these out, i really like the first one. thanks!
2nd one looks really old because of the bolt pattern. not worth the price IMO
the 1st one looks like a 2009/2010. much betta!

The Supermodel with the ICS Channel is a 2010 I believe. That's a pretty good price for that board. Just FYI - if you buy a Burton with the ICS channel system you are limited to buying Burton Bindings. Not that there is anything wrong with that - just buyer beware.

the used part in not sure about, but if you want easy attaching bindings to board to with burton, their new system is literally clip, slide, and go.

ICS is really good system. only problem is that you can't try the full range out on the market because not every manufacturer makes retro discs. for this reason alone i will not buy a burton board. i like my Union Forces too much. lol

another think to keep in mind is if you want reverse camber or regular camber. reverse is usually a better set up for more rails and park and will generally only be seen in the "free ride or park" boards. for burton it goes under the name "v rocker" other brands go with different names. i would defiantly recommend getting a regular camber board. i ride a forum Youngblood which is regular camber and i ride 85% park. as for the ics channel system. They have adaptor plates still limits your bindings to burton but you are able to save some money and get an older model binding.
hope that helps you pick a board.
also some other good brands to look at are
forum (made in the same factory as burton now)
k2 (believe it or not they started making really good boards in the past couple years)
Rome
good luck finding a board
