Just bought some Mitsuba Proud Horns here in Japan (on vacation).
Wondering if anyone heard or these? Seems good to me and in the back it came with English/Japanese installation instructions. I wonder if Street Performance will install these for me...

Anyone here install their (hella) horns by themselves or is it better to ask Street Performance to do this (how much for installation)? I have no clue how easy or difficult installing horns would be.

Well, if you were in Japan, you obviously speak and read Japanese. You also read and write English, so what's stopping you from doing it yourself? It's freakin' easy. The horn is hidden below the airbox on an '06 and is easily accessible through the wheel well. I don't know where it is on a '10, but I'm sure someone can tell you here.
As for the electrical, I'm sure it is as simple as disconnecting the spade connection from your existing horn and running a wire from that point in sequence through the other two. If you mount the horns to a plastic support then you need to ground the pair to something metal on the chassis.
I like the look of the two horns through the moustache, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $100 for a pair of horns, that's Hella expensive. I bought an '04 Mazda 6 dual horn assembly for $40 and installed that instead. It's freakin' loud!
You will be infinitely more satisfied with the mod if you do it yourself, save some money, and have some cash for something else!

its so simple i just usually don't have time to do my own installations otherwise id do everything myself. the hellas would have been no problem for me as i am an electrical apprentice but i couldn't turn down dans cheap prices. also i couldn't be bothered, the electrical is the easiest part running the wire is the pain in the ass.

What was Dan's price and what's his nickname?

I have no clue what I would be doing...lol I'm not sure what a spade connection, moustache etc is... but I think I can figure it out...but not too confident. I paid about 50 dollars equivalent for these.

I can see where you installed the horns. I am assuming that is where the stock horns were too. Is it really necessary to take apart the front bumper? Wouldn't know where to start taking that apart or what tools I would need... Who is this Dan guy again?...lol

That is great that you put in all the parts yourself. Scared to screw it up. I didn't even put my own rally armor mud flaps on the car. But I did put on the lamin X fogs lol.

Dan = Mcguyver_3.
I mounted them there because i needed the full effect of the hellas. the stock horn is located by the left wheel.

you don't need to disassemble the stock horn your just disconnect it and wire in the new horns. if you don't want to attempt the install contact dan (McGyver_3) he does installs.

Geez! Sometimes I wish that I lived in the GTA. I'd make a fortune off of you guys!
... but then, 50 acres in the country... large chalet home... 1 1/2 car garage... hunting in my back yard... surrounded by water and the fishing is great... nearest neighbour is 1/2km away....maybe 6 traffic lights in total for 3600 sq. kms... a traffic jam is two cars at a 4 way stop....
...naaaaah.... I'm good.

when you work 10-12 hours a day plus side jobs on the weekends you have no time for installs, also im running wires all day i don't want to come home and fish wires through my car. don't get me wrong if i can't get someone to do it for cheap ill do it myself, or if i have extra time.

That's harsh! ... but I can take it.
My entertainment doesn't involve six-toed banjo players, Mr. Zoom Zoom 'Boy'... (you did name yourself 'boy', did you not?)
.. but the entertainment does occasionally involve rifles and shotguns. ;-)

You should have your journeyman's ticket in a year at that rate! Good stuff.

Sadly, you are one of the few on here who knows what movie those pictures reference. And, I've been to Picton, not harsh at all. If you know Greg Andrews, say hi to him for me. :)
Alas, I grew up with a bunch of guys who made nicknames for everyone that always ended in 'boy'. You like Schnitzel, you became the 'Schnitzel Boy'. You like Souvlaki, you were the 'Souvlaki Boy'. The possibilities were endless. Zoom Zoom Boy was just a natural fit. That and purdy mouth boy.:)
Ok, let's get this back on topic... LOL.

Sorry, don't know Greg, but I'm sure that I can find him. It's a small county.
As for the movie Deliverance, it's circa 1972. The young-uns are now all ipodified, videofied, computified, and citified...
.... but enough of the razzing.. it's all good, boys...
Now, I have ma harp 'n ma dawg, but dang! Whars ma gun?
Yeeeeeeeeeeeee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Thanks to Dan, aka McGuyver_3 for installing these two tone Mitsuba Proud Horns. Now I get why they call them two tone. One is high and the other is low and on the stock car there is only one horn. Anyway, he did a great job and he's a great guy. Recommend him for sure!
